@Everyone
I believe that standardisation is the foundation of effective project controls. I am keen to hear your advice and learn from your experience regarding cost code directories or dictionaries.
Are you currently using any standardised cost code structures? In my previous roles with US based companies, I worked extensively with the CSI (Construction Specifications Institute) MasterFormat. I found it quite effective for aligning cost tracking with scope and schedule.
Are you aware of any other recognised construction coding standards used globally or regionally? I am particularly interested in frameworks that support consistency across projects and facilitate integration with scheduling and reporting tools.
Additionally, I see great value in using a standardised cost code framework as a foundation for generating reliable benchmarks across projects. This not only supports consistency in reporting but also enables meaningful analysis for future planning and performance evaluation
