InEight Document - Tags

I’m wondering how other organizations are using Tags in InEight Documents. The fields Discipline, Type, and Category already provide a solid filtering structure. I’m open to suggestions on what else could be included as tags to enhance document organization and searchability.

Tags in InEight Document can be used two different ways and they both differ from the structured metadata fields you have mentioned.

1) They can be used for on-the-fly classification (when you don't have an appropriate field available and want to track something/make something easily searchable from desktop AND from the mobile app).

2) They can be used as layers in the document viewer.  Here they can be applied to annotations in the viewer, and you can toggle them on/off to control visibility.

When you create tags you will notice you can allocate them for either document or annotations referring to the two different uses above.
