This morning, I logged into InEight Estimate and was pleased to note that release 26.1 has been deployed across our company. There are two key features in this release worth highlighting. The Resource Rate Default Quantity “matching” feature should accelerate workflows and significantly reduce errors compared to manually verifying quantity alignment. It appears we may need to enable this functionality within our Library for all standard resources.
The most noteworthy enhancement is the integration of MS Excel with the quantity take-off process. If understood correctly, this capability will allow us to develop a standard CBS structure and link quantities to an Excel sheet using predefined filters. This should facilitate the collection of quantities by Account Codes and streamline their incorporation into our estimates.
Is anyone else interested in testing these new features? I would appreciate learning how others are leveraging or exploring the Excel integration in their workflows.
